New North American Champion Crowned On WWE NXT

Johnny Gargano opened last night's episode of NXT and talked about how he wanted to break the Gargano curse. Johnny Wrestling has never successfully defended a singles title in NXT but he looked to change his luck last night by choosing an opponent from a rigged wheel.

The wheel just happened to land on Leon Ruff, who has lost all 10 of his matches in WWE.

The North American Champion didn't take his opponent seriously and dominated much of the match, but he became distracted when he spotted Damian Priest in the crowd. Gargano then continued to beat down Ruff while looking at The Archer Of Infamy.

Gargano spent too long trying to taunt Priest, though, and it ultimately backfired on the former NXT Champion. After Johnny went for a Superkick while looking at his former rival, Ruff ducked and countered into a Crucifix Pin to pick up the upset victory.

This left Gargano embarrassed once again and Vic Joseph argued it could be the most shocking title change in NXT history.
