New X-Division Champion Crowned At IMPACT Over Drive

IMPACT Over Drive sees a new X-Division Champion crowned

A new X-Division Champion was crowned during the Over Drive IMPACT Plus special from Louisville, Kentucky on Friday, November 18.

IMPACT held a tournament for the vacant title in recent weeks and Trey Miguel and Black Taurus had picked up wins to advance to Friday's final. Both men enjoyed time with the upper hand during the contest and it was Trey who would win the vacant X-Division Championship after he blinded Black Taurus with spray paint before he followed up with Lightning Spiral for the victory.

Friday's win begins Trey's second reign as X-Division Champion. He first captured the gold at Bound for Glory in October 2021 and held it for 182 days before dropping the title to Ace Austin at Rebellion 2022.

Frankie Kazarian was previously X-Division Champion after winning the title from "Speedball" Mike Bailey at Bound for Glory 2022. He exercised Option C to challenge for the IMPACT World Title soon after, though, vacating the X-Division Championship in the process.

To reach Friday's final, Miguel picked up a first-round win over Alan Angels before a DQ victory over "Speedball" Mike Bailey in the semifinal.
