Next Week's WWE SmackDown Being Moved To FS1

College football takes precedent...

The December 18 edition of WWE SmackDown is being moved to cable channel FS1, due to a scheduling conflict with college football.

WWE made the announcement during tonight's episode of SmackDown. The show will broadcast in its usual time slot of 8 PM EST.

This is due to the Pac-12 college football championship game airing on the main FOX Network, taking over SmackDown's time slot.

It was up in the air several days ago as to whether the game would be played on a Friday night or Saturday night. Had it been the latter, SmackDown would've obviously been unaffected.

This marks the third time SmackDown has aired on Fox Sports 1. On both previous occasions, SmackDown had to move due to scheduling conflicts with the World Series (replaced by game three of both the 2019 and 2020 Series').

SmackDown's audience took a hit on both of those occasions. Generally hovering around two million or so viewers week on FOX, the FS1 broadcasts dipped to 881,000 and 888,000 viewers, respectively.

Next week's SmackDown is the go-home show for WWE TLC on December 20.
