NJPW Legend Yuji Nagata To Face Jacob Fatu In MLW Debut

NJPW legend Yuji Nagata heading to MLW to face Jacob Fatu

Japanese pro wrestling legend Yuji Nagata is set to make his Major League Wrestling debut on February 3, when the first and only Japanese Grand Slam winner takes on former MLW World Heavyweight Champion Jacob Fatu in singles competition.

Nagata vs. Fatu will take place as part of MLW’s SuperFight show in Philadelphia, and comes as part of the independent group’s ‘strategic alliance’ with New Japan and CMLL:

“The upcoming SuperFight bout between Nagata and Fatu is a testament to the growing collaboration between Major League Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling and wish to thank Mr. Hiroshi Tanahashi and Rocky Romero. This inter-promotional bout promises to deliver a unique blend of styles, bringing together the best of both wrestling worlds and giving fans something special you won’t see anywhere else,” said MLW President Court Bauer in a press release.

Nagata is the only man to have reigned as IWGP Heavyweight Champion, GHC Heavyweight Champion, Triple Crown Champion, and Zero1 World Heavyweight Champion. Nagata is not the only decorated Japanese legend to be wrestling at SuperFight, with Satoshi Kojima in action against MLW World Heavyweight Champion Alex Kane at event.
