NJPW Planning A "Tough Enough" Style Series

NJPW are planning to run a reality show

WWE’s Tough Enough reality show was one which had both positives and negatives over the years. It arguably humiliated several of those involved due to the manner of some challenges and tasks, but it also brought out certain qualities that other forms of tryouts to become a WWE superstar wouldn’t. The show would bring in notable names over the years such as The Miz, Ryback, Mandy Rose, and several more.

NJPW looks to be running their own form of Tough Enough style of show, as noted by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter when touching on the company’s push to build newer and younger talent like Clark Connors, Shota Umino, Yuya Uemura, and several more;

“They also noted training new people and a reality show they are doing similar to WWE’s Tough Enough in the past, hosted and produced by Kazuchika Okada following hopefuls preparing for a New Japan tryout.”

The exact format of this show and when it will take place isn’t currently known.
