NXT TakeOver, WWE Hall Of Fame Both Off

WrestleMania remains the only scheduled event for the weekend...

As it stands, WrestleMania 36 will be the only WWE-centric special event taking place during its designated weekend.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider inquired to WWE about the Hall of Fame ceremony and NXT TakeOver, and was told, "The WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony and NXT TakeOver will not take place as previously scheduled. We will share any further details as they become available."

Johnson also notes, though it goes without saying, that AXXESS is also cancelled.

The Hall of Fame ceremony was scheduled for Thursday, April 2. Scheduled inductees included Batista, the New World Order (Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, and Sean Waltman), JBL, The Bella Twins, The British Bulldog, and Jushin "Thunder" Liger.

The Tampa TakeOver was set for Saturday night, April 4. Announced for the card was a six-way ladder match to determine the number one contender for the NXT Women's title, with Chelsea Green, Mia Yim, and Tegan Nox as confirmed participants.

As noted earlier, WrestleMania 36 has been moved to the Performance Center in Orlando, where it will be held without fans in attendance. Weekly editions of Raw, SmackDown, and NXT are likely to continue in the venue as well.
