Original WWE Elimination Chamber Plans Revealed
There was originally a different match planned for Elimination Chamber 2024
Feb 25, 2024
WWE’s Elimination Chamber has been and gone, and it was a unique night which saw just four matches on the card for those in Perth, Australia inside the Optus Stadium. The show was originally set to look quite different though, with previous reports suggesting Brock Lesnar was set to face Dominik Mysterio. There was also another scheduled match which did not take place in the end.
There has been some talk surrounding the status of Australian-born Bronson Reed, who did not end up being at the show, in some ways in part to the birth of his child, which he revealed yesterday. However, there is another reason as to why Reed was not booked on the show.
Per a report from Fightful Select, Reed was originally scheduled to challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at the premium live event. Rollins picked up an injury in January though in a match with Jinder Mahal, ruling him out of action for the next month or so. Rollins ended up appearing in the Grayson Waller Effect talk show segment with Cody Rhodes instead, rather than competing in a title match.
