Indie wrestling legend Homicide recently announced the date of his retirement match, and now ‘The Notorious 187’ has revealed who he will be sharing the ring with for his final bout.
The former Ring of Honor World Champion is set to hang up his boots on March 20 at Outlaw Wrestling’s ‘End of an Era’ show, with Homicide set to team with Bull James against the team of Afa Jr. and Mike Santana in his hometown of Brooklyn, New York.
Homicide is said to have handpicked both James as his partner and Santana and Afa as his opponents. Homicide and James have tagged before, teaming in an Outlaw Wrestling ring in 2023, whilst Homicide and Afa Jr. have feuded on the indy scene in the 2020s. Fans will probably be most familiar with Homicide and Santana’s past, with the two feuding extensively as part of the LAX vs. OGz war in 2018/2019. Homicide and Santana last faced off at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XI in July 2024, Homicide getting the win on that occasion.
Homicide will retire as one of the most revered names in independent wrestling history, having held titles in ROH, PWG, IWA Mid-South, and countless other promotions across a 30-year career. Homicide also held the X-Division Championship, and the NWA and TNA World Tag Team Championships during his time in TNA Wrestling.
