Pat McAfee Signs New WWE Deal

Pat McAfee will be with WWE for "years to come"

Pat McAfee won't be leaving WWE anytime soon as the company announced the SmackDown commentator has signed a multi-year extension to keep him with the organisation.

In the announcement, WWE noted: "The new pact will see McAfee entertaining the WWE Universe for years to come."

After initially performing in WWE as a part-time in-ring talent on NXT, McAfee was signed to be the colour commentator alongside Michael Cole on Friday Night SmackDown following WrestleMania 37 in April of 2021. McAfee has since made his main roster in-ring debut, facing Theory and then Vince McMahon at WrestleMania 38. The former NFL punter will also take on Happy Corbin at SummerSlam on July 30.

Michael Cole was ultimately happy with the contract extension and he credited McAfee with helping to revitalise his love of the business.

"After 25 years in 'the booth,' working with @PatMcAfeeShow is the highlight of each week. His excitement is contagious (even if he almost kicks me when standing on our table) and has helped revitalize my love for our business! @WWE, our fans, and I are lucky to have him!" Cole tweeted
