Paul Heyman: "I've Always Thought Cesaro Was A Main Event Player In WWE"

Paul Heyman believes Cesaro has what it takes to be a main event player in WWE.

Roman Reigns' special counsel and Cesaro were briefly paired together in 2014 and Heyman praised The Swiss Cyborg while reflecting on their partnership with Inside The Ropes. 

"I've always thought Cesaro was a main event player in WWE. Cesaro was paired with Paul Heyman because Paul Heyman needed an excuse to be on television to say the words, 'My client, Brock Lesnar, conquered The Undertaker's undefeated streak at WrestleMania.' That was an elevation in terms of exposure for Cesaro, but it did him no favours in terms of showcasing his talents," Heyman admitted.

After years in WWE's mid-card, Cesaro looked set for a main event run earlier this year after he re-signed with the company. He would main event the WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view against Universal Champion Roman Reigns, but Cesaro tumbled down the card again soon after following his feud with Seth Rollins and he is currently without a programme on SmackDown.
