Paul Wight Planning To Make AEW In-Ring Return In March

Could Paul Wight make an AEW in-ring return?

Despite settling into life as a commentator and coach, it seems the wrestling bug hasn’t left Paul Wight completely, with the former WCW and WWE World Champion eyeing a match in an AEW ring in March.

Wight last wrestled in March 2022, but revealed to Metro that he's working on his conditioning ahead of a potential in-ring return:

"You know, there’s been some setbacks personally. I mean, I’ve had a couple of injury setbacks, had to get a knee replaced in August. That knee was bad for 12 years, so it could’ve gone any day! It’s like kind of like that tire on your car that you know you should change but keep driving anyway," said Wight. "But we’re good now, and hopefully we’ll be back in the ring in March. Everything’s on schedule, so we’re looking good!"

As for who he could face, Wight aimed some harsh words at new AEW World Tag Team Champions The Gunns:

"They’re a couple of little smartasses right now. Down the road I wanna compete against them at least so I can chop the hell out of them. It needs to happen. They’re incredibly athletic, they have a bright future," said Wight, who once teamed with Billy Gunn as The Show Gunns in WWE.
