The opening matches for each night of WrestleMania 42 have been revealed ahead of the weekend of events on Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19.
It had already been officially announced that the first two matches of WrestleMania Saturday would be The Usos & LA Knight vs. Logan Paul, Austin Theory, & IShowSpeed, and the Unsanctioned Match between Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu, while WrestleMania Sunday would open with Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi and the Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Championship.
It was not revealed in what order those matches would take place, but WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select has reported the current plan is for the six-man tag to open night one of WrestleMania 42. Night two is scheduled to open with Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi.
The first hour of night one of WrestleMania 42 will air on ESPN 2 in the United States, while the first hour of night two will be broadcast on ESPN. WWE pay-per-views have aired on ESPN Unlimited since September 2025 as part of a multi-year deal, while they are available on Netflix internationally.
WrestleVotes Radio noted that ESPN pushed for Brock Lesnar to be a part of the matches that would air on their linear TV platforms. WWE were happy to grant that request.
The main events of WrestleMania 42 will be Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton for the Undisputed WWE Championship on night one and CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Title on night two.
