A few months ago, plans were in place to bring Hulk Hogan into the Bullet Club, according to the
Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Dave Meltzer writes:
'There were negotiations a few months back for Hogan to be part of The Bullet Club, as legit they have said the only outside guys they’d want in would be C.M. Punk or Hogan. The feeling was that Hogan wanted too much money and he’d bail on them the minute Vince called, and the feeling was that he was negotiating in the first place to get Vince to bring him back.'
Members of the stable have previously stated that the only big outside names they'd consider for the group are Hogan and CM Punk.
Hogan currently still finds himself ostracised from WWE, after a sex tape leaked by Gawker in 2015 included the use of racist language.
On the topic of Hogan eventually returning to WWE, Meltzer states:
'The reality is Hogan will come back as soon as the company believes there would be no sponsor backlash. But that is hard because unfortunately, there is no way, if they brought him back, if a sponsor was upset, that WWE could defend itself because his language can’t be defended in public court.'
Despite being rumoured to be a surprise part of Raw's 25th anniversary show, Hogan was absent from the show. Many other legends and Hall of Famers appeared, although the structure of the show caused controversy and fan unrest, as many fans claimed to have paid around $400 for Manhattan Center tickets - only for the majority of the action to be held at the Barclays Center.
The Bullet Club remain one of the hottest acts in all of wrestling, particularly in terms of merchandise sales. Their 'All In' pay per view - promoted largely by Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks - takes place on September 1st. No location has yet been revealed.
