The backstage reaction to the entire situation around Ridge Holland's exit from WWE has been revealed.

Holland - real name Luke Menzies - was fired by WWE last week following a social media post in which the 37-year-old noted he had been "hung out to dry" by the company and was unsure how he was going to pay his mortgage. WWE had informed Holland in mid-October that his contract would be allowed to expire on November 14 despite Menzies currently being out of action with a Lisfranc foot injury he suffered in September while wrestling in TNA as a WWE representative. Holland may also require neck surgery.

Reports have noted that WWE were particularly unhappy about Holland mentioning his mortgage struggles on social media and this resulted in the company firing him for breach of contract.

Ridge Holland's mother launched a GoFundMe to assist with his financial issues, but the GoFundMe has since been taken down at Luke Menzies' request. The money will be used by Menzies until the family's situation improves. The exact amount from the GoFundMe will be donated to charity at a later date.

Fightful Select has reported that WWE talent were "befuddled" by the entire situation, from Ridge Holland having financial issues after years in WWE, to him being told his contract would be allowed to expire while injured, to WWE then firing him.

Holland won't be able to wrestle until well into 2026 due to his injuries. He is available to make appearances immediately following his firing.
