On this day 15 years ago, WWE announced the impending return of Jeff Hardy.

Having been let go by the company in April 2003 amid ongoing personal problems, Hardy would finally return to the promotion in August 2006, with WWE first teasing his comeback on August 4 of that year.

The Charismatic Enigma would return on the August 21 episode of Monday Night Raw and stay with the promotion for his second run until 2009. Hardy would then return to WWE in a shock move with brother Matt in 2017 after a spell with TNA and a run with Ring Of Honor.

A three-time WWE World Champion, Hardy won all three of his World titles during the run in WWE that started in 2006. As such, the 43-year-old has heavily featured on WWE pay-per-views since making his company debut all the way back in 1994 - albeit the Hardy Boyz wouldn't become a thing until a few years later.
