Today is the anniversary of Rob Van Dam's debut in WWE.
While 'The Whole Damn Show' wouldn't actually sign with the promotion until 2001, RVD actually made his first appearance in Vince McMahon's promotion on May 12, 1997, as part of an ECW invasion of Monday Night Raw, before facing off against a young Jeff Hardy.
