Earlier this month, a new WWE trademark was revealed, which hinted at a brand new WWE show. The term of “WWE Late Night” was trademarked with the following listing:

"Entertainment services, namely, hosting and producing live comedic performances; entertainment services, namely, hosting and producing live entertainment shows; arranging and conducting entertainment events; providing a website in the field of entertainment."

Questions were raised over whether this was a new type of WWE talk show. Well, questions have been answered, and WWE Late Night is debuting during SummerSlam weekend - hosted by none other than Tony Hinchcliffe. This marks the comedian’s return to WWE after hosting the controversial and now infamous “Roast Of WrestleMania” across WrestleMania weekend, in which leaked footage emerged of some of the so-called “jokes” and “roasts” told by comedians and WWE wrestlers alike.

Much like the Roast Of WrestleMania, this is not being broadcast and will be a non-televised show, being hosted in Englewood, New Jersey at 11pm after SummerSlam night one at the Bergen Performing Arts Center.

WWE wrote in their announcement, “Hinchcliffe, the internationally renowned comedian, one of the top roasters in the world and the mastermind behind Kill Tony, will bring together soon-to-be-announced top comics, entertainers and WWE Superstars for an unforgettable night of laughs and huge surprises.”

It very much could be the Roast Of WrestleMania under a different name. WWE looked to try and crack down on all leaks of the initial event after backlash occurred towards many of those in attendance, including the likes of Nia Jax, Paul Heyman, and others.
