Renee Young To Commentate Entirety Of Next Week's WWE Raw

Goodbye Jonathan Coachman, for one week at least...

It has just been announced on WWE.com that on next Monday night's episode of WWE Raw, Renee Young will be filling in for Johnathan Coachman on commentary.

This is a historic announcement for WWE, as this will be the first time a woman will commentate for the whole duration of the longest running episodic television show in history. Young will, of course, be flanked by Michael Cole and Corey Graves on the go-home-show for SummerSlam.

Speaking with ESPN.com, Young said: "When Michael told me, I was like, 'This Monday?! What are you talking about?!' I am so excited for this opportunity. To be sitting with Cole, who has been such a great champion of mine since I've been working for WWE, it's going to be really cool."

It's not just Renee that is excited about this opportunity, as Cole himself spoke glowingly about his latest broadcast partner to ESPN: "Renee has broken barriers all over the place," he said. "She's reaching out and doing things that would have never been dreamed of 10 years ago."

Renee is no stranger to the commentary booth, as she was a member of the NXT broadcast team in 2013/14, and appeared on WWE Superstars with Tom Phillips in 2014 and 2015.

Young is also part of the commentary team alongside WWE Hall of Famer, Beth Phoenix, for the second edition of the Mae Young Classic - which saw it's first tapings take place just last night. Monday will mark Renee's commentary debut on WWE's flagship show, though.

Jonathan Coachman will be fulfilling other commitments outside of WWE on Monday, so those who call for his head on a weekly basis shouldn't be getting too excited just yet.
