Report: AEW Blood And Guts Might Be A One-Match Show

It could be a long match, indeed

The feud between The Inner Circle and The Pinnacle has been heating up over the past few weeks and the two factions are scheduled to clash in a Blood and Guts Match on the May 5 edition of Dynamite.

Being inspired by WarGames, the match is expected to be long but Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Blood And Guts could be a one-match show. AEW is currently considering adding some taped bouts to bulk out the two-hour episode, but a final decision has yet to be made.

"I think it's a one-match show. That's going to be the only match. There might be some taped stuff but I was told there'll be one live match and there might be some taped matches thrown in. Bunch of features and everything but they're building the whole show around the one match," Meltzer said.

This will be AEW's second attempt at a Blood and Guts Match. The stipulation was originally scheduled to debut on March 25, 2020, with The Elite vs. The Inner Circle but the match was scrapped because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The two factions instead faced off at Double Or Nothing 2020 in a Stadium Stampede Match.
