Report: AEW Owns Fight Forever Video Game Engine

It doesn't appear All Elite Wrestling will be making another pro wrestling video game anytime soon, but any future projects won't be as expensive as their AEW: Fight Forever game.

Fightful Select has reported that AEW own the engine used for the Fight Forever game. This ultimately means AEW would be able to create a Fight Forever sequel at a significantly lower cost than the 2023 video game.

Word of AEW owning the Fight Forever engine comes after a report from Mike Straw noted AEW lost at least $30 million on their first console video game due to lower-than-expected sales and development delays. Fight Forever reportedly sold "about half" of what was expected inside All Elite Wrestling. The game was also originally planned for a 2022 release but the title was pushed back to June 2023.

Mike Straw noted that AEW are interested in producing another console video game "way down the line" but there is no new project that is imminent.

AEW: Fight Forever was released to mixed reviews in June 2023. The final DLC pack for the game was released in the summer of 2024, with the deal between AEW and Fight Forever developers Yuke's expiring soon after.
