Report: AEW's Cody Rhodes Currently A Free Agent

Cody Rhodes is currently a free agent, according to a new report.

The American Nightmare's contract with All Elite Wrestling expired at the end of 2021, according to Fightful Select, and he has been working in the promotion without a deal since then. 

Cody's contractual status also isn't a secret and Fightful noted "some" have known for the past several weeks. 

If Cody will re-sign with AEW ultimately remains to be seen but he noted in December that he couldn't see himself anywhere else.

"As of now, my future is with AEW. AEW would be very strange without the core members of the revolution. We all still talk. We all have this admiration for each other. I can't see myself anywhere else, and I'm very optimistic about what the future holds," Cody recently said.

Rhodes was a founding member of All Elite Wrestling and he serves as one of the promotion's executive vice presidents with The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega. Cody is also a three-time and the current TNT Champion.
