Report: AEW Won't Be Signing Ryback
The Big Guy will have to look elsewhere
Jan 25, 2021
Ryback hasn't stepped inside the squared circle since he wrestled at a Northeast Wrestling show in August 2018. The Big Guy has been busy with outside ventures over the past couple of years like his Ryback TV YouTube channel, but a return to the ring could be on the cards.
On the latest episode of the Shooting Blanks Wrestling Report, the former WWE Intercontinental Champion said he is going to come back to wrestling and work for WWE's competition.
He said: "I am coming back and I'm gonna go to the competition. We're gonna kick their (WWE) ass in the ratings."
Some assumed "the competition" in question was All Elite Wrestling, but Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Online that Ryback is not signing with AEW. If The Big Guy will sign with another promotion ultimately remains to be seen.
Outside of talking about his possible wrestling return, Ryback has been involved in a war of words with Mark Henry over the past week. Their jibes back and forth have died down in recent days, but Henry advised AEW not to sign Ryback on a recent episode of Busted Open Radio.
The WWE Hall Of Famer said: "I hope that the good ol' folks at AEW sees the snake in the woodpile and says, 'No thank you,' because you can say whatever you want, but you have to believe somebody when they say with their own words how they feel."
