Following reports that William Regal is seemingly leaving All Elite Wrestling, a new report from PWInsider has stated that all signs point to the NXT General Manager being WWE-bound shortly.

PWInsider noted they haven't heard anything official from WWE but there have been rumblings within the company that Regal will be heading back to the organisation in a backstage role.

Regal appeared to be written off AEW TV on this week's episode of Dynamite, with MJF clocking Regal from behind. The Gentleman Villain was then taken out of the ring on a stretcher before leaving the arena in Indianapolis in an ambulance alongside Bryan Danielson.

Regal's future had been the subject of much speculation in recent days. He was believed to be under contract on a three-year deal but Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful has since reported that Regal's contract is up in December. When in December is unknown.

Regal made his AEW debut at March's Revolution pay-per-view, forming Blackpool Combat Club with Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley. Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli were later added to the stable.

Regal's AEW debut came after his WWE release in January 2022. He had been with the company for 22 years before that and was a close confidante of Triple H's in NXT.
