Report: Austin Theory 'Very Apologetic' Following WWE Raw Botch

Austin Theory and Mustafa Ali narrowly avoided disaster on the mistimed move

There was a scary moment on this past Monday's episode of WWE Raw, when an attempted top-rope hurricanrana from Mustafa Ali to Austin Theory went badly wrong. Both men ended up landing on their heads due to the botch.

Fightful Select reported that Theory was supposed to block the move hold Ali in a powerbomb position, then bring him back up for Ali to hit the 'rana successfully.

They added that Ali called for the referee to check on Theory and that Ali then called an audible for the satellite DDT. Theory went on to retain his United States Title following interference from Dolph Ziggler.

Theory was booked to look strong following the post-match angle, as he laid out both Ali and the Show Off.

Fightful's report noted that Theory was very apologetic for the mistake backstage, but that there was no heat between the two. Adam Pearce was listed as the match's producer.

The United States Champion recently said that he believes he is 'on the right track' to go toe-to-toe with current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
