Report: Authors Of Pain Returning To Pro Wrestling

Former WWE Raw Tag Champions Authors of Pain could be making a comeback

After several years of uncertainty, former NXT and WWE Raw Tag team Champions the Authors of Pain could be primed for a return to pro-wrestling.

The team have not wrestled since March 2020, all but suggesting they were done with the industry after their WWE releases, but a report from Fightful Select suggests the former Akam and Rezar could be in-line for an in-ring return.

The AOP are allegedly planning on running a pro-wrestling event in Dubai in early June, and have reached out to talent about working the show. Sources told Fightful that The AOP have plans to wrestle at the event, with one source saying "I'm not sure how often they'll be wrestling, but they're planning to do this one."

This news comes after years of conflicting reports about the pair, with stories since 2020 suggesting numerous in-ring returns, as well as apparent confirmation from the two that they were retired from the business.

During their near four-year run in WWE the team won the NXT and Raw Tag Team Championships, as well as the Dusty Rhodes Classic tag team tournament in 2016.
