Report: Backstage News On Liv Morgan Injury

Liv Morgan made an appearance on Friday's episode of SmackDown but the women's champion was not in action on the show, instead being interviewed while her arm was in a brace. 

The brace prompted speculation that Morgan might have been dealing with a legitimate injury but that is not the case. Fightful Select reported that Morgan's injury was a work and an arm brace was even brought to the venue by WWE's prop department. 

Morgan's worked injury comes after she defended the SmackDown Women's Title against Ronda Rousey at SummerSlam on July 30. Morgan won the match but in controversial circumstances as she tapped out before the referee had finished counting the pinfall on Rousey while the challenger had Liv trapped in an Armbar. The referee failed to notice, though.

This caused Morgan to be booed on SmackDown and the fans even chanted "you tapped out" at the visibly uncomfortable champion. 

In her next title defence, Morgan will put the SmackDown Women's Championship on the line against Shayna Baszler at Clash At The Castle on September 3 in Cardiff, Wales. Baszler earned the title shot by winning a gauntlet match on SmackDown.
