Report: Backstage Reaction To Rob Van Dam's AEW In-Ring Debut

Backstage reaction to Rob Van Dam’s AEW debut match revealed

Rob Van Dam made his All Elite Wrestling in-ring debut on the August 9 edition of Dynamite, with the ECW icon tangling with Jack Perry for the unsanctioned FTW Title.

Although Van Dam was unsuccessful in prying the title from Perry’s hands, he looked sharp, with the 52-year-old former WWE Champion not looking out of place in the ring. A report from Fightful Select has revealed how RVD’s debut went down with those backstage in AEW, with it claimed that people backstage were ‘happy’ with Van Dam’s performance.

The FTW Title match was only the third match Van Dam has wrestled all year, and was his highest profile outing since a pair of well-received matches for Pro Wrestling NOAH in Summer 2022

It remains to be seen if ‘The Whole F’N Show’ will make more appearances for AEW, with Van Dam himself cryptically suggesting he’d ‘wait and see’ what the future holds, whilst WWE are promoting RVD and other ECW alumni for the upcoming WrestleMania XL weekend in ECW home city Philadelphia in 2024.
