Report: Britt Baker Vs. Thunder Rosa Pulled From AEW New Year's Smash Night 2

Following exposure to COVID-19

All Elite Wrestling previously announced that Thunder Rosa would go one on one with Britt Baker at New Year's Smash night two on January 13.

The match wasn't advertised during this week's Dynamite, though, and Britt Baker is now scheduled to host the latest edition of The Waiting Room instead. Her guest will be Cody Rhodes.

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter this is because Thunder Rosa had been in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19. AEW subsequently pulled her from New Year's Smash and the match will take place at a later date.

In its place, the company added Serena Deeb vs. Tay Conti for the NWA World Women's Championship to the card. The show was taped yesterday.

Meltzer also noted Nick Jackson won't be in the ring on next week's show. The Elite were scheduled to be in action but Nick suffered a leg contusion during the eight-man tag team match on Wednesday. Jackson believes he will be able to wrestle again by January 20.
