Report: Christian Cage Expected To Be Out For Up To 8 Months With Injury

Christian Cage on the shelf

AEW star Christian Cage is set for a long spell on the sidelines.

Cage was injured heading into his match with Jungle Boy at the All Out pay-per-view on September 4. He ended up winning the match in just 20 seconds after Jungle Boy was attacked beforehand by Luchasaurus.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Christian could be out for up to eight months due to what he had heard was a torn triceps injury.

Meltzer stressed that the nature of the injury has not been made official. Jungle Boy said in his promo on the post-All Out episode of Dynamite that Christian would be going away for his "little surgery". Prior to All Out, Cage last wrestled on the August 3 edition of Dynamite (where he beat Matt Hardy).

The 48-year-old signed a multi-year contract with All Elite Wrestling in March of 2021. He had previously been medically disqualified from wrestling in WWE due to concussion-related issues and was considered 'retired' by the company from 2014 onwards. Christian made a surprise return in the 2021 Men's Royal Rumble, prior to signing with AEW.
