Report: Curtis Axel Re-Signs With WWE

Curtis Axel is running wild again in WWE

AxelMania is back in WWE and running wild behind the scenes!

Joe Hennig (AKA Curtis Axel) had been working backstage in WWE in recent weeks as part of a producer tryout and the former Intercontinental Champion has seemingly impressed higher-ups in the company. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE have re-signed Axel as a producer.

The 42-year-old was spotted on WWE TV this week as one of the officials who separated Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes during their pull-apart brawl on Monday Night Raw.

Axel previously worked in WWE from 2007 until 2020 as an in-ring talent. He initially performed as Michael McGillicutty before he was repackaged as Curtis Axel in 2013, being paired with Paul Heyman and picking up a win over Triple H during his brief push that year. Axel was soon booked as an undercard talent, though, until his release in 2020.

Another former WWE Superstar in Ariya Daivari was also spotted on Monday Night Raw this week as part of his own producer tryout. There is no word on if the former 205 Live talent has been signed, though.
