On Wednesday, WWE released 23 Superstars from their roster including Rusev, Zack Ryder, Heath Slater, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson. Nine producers were also furloughed until July 1 while Kurt Angle was let go.

Mike Johnson at PWInsider reported that even more cutbacks were made at WWE Headquarters, with one employee saying approximately 40 percent of the workforce at Titan Towers was furloughed or let go. Cuts were made across every division in the company, with the live events division being hit particularly hard due to the lack of house shows. The digital division also suffered deep cuts.

Johnson later heard from four different WWE employees who each told him they were experiencing "survivor's guilt" because they were kept on while their friends and co-workers will have to sit at home. The company is hoping to have furloughed employees back to work by July 1 and WWE will cover their employee benefits during this period.

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that more cuts are expected to be made in the coming days. Whether or not these will affect employees at WWE HQ is not known, but the belief in the company is that more NXT Superstars will be let go.
