Report: Drew McIntyre Yet To Make A Decision On His WWE Future

Latest on Drew McIntyre's WWE future

There has been an update on Drew McIntyre's future with WWE.

It emerged ahead of WrestleMania 39 that McIntyre was in the final year of his WWE contract and both sides "aren't even close" when it comes to terms on a new deal. WWE are reportedly eager to retain the services of McIntyre, though, and both sides are waiting until later this year to discuss an extension.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, there is nothing imminent when it comes to McIntyre deciding to re-sign with WWE or leave the company and the two-time WWE Champion has yet to make any decisions about his future at this point. The two sides are said to be far apart on money and McIntyre told some of his friends about the situation. The 37-year-old didn't expect news of his contract to be leaked, however.

McIntyre remains a featured performer on WWE TV and he is currently aligned with Sheamus and The Brawling Brutes, although Sheamus and Irn Dru did come to blows at WrestleMania 39 when they challenged GUNTHER for the Intercontinental Championship in a Triple Threat. GUNTHER successfully defended the belt following a Powerbomb to McIntyre.
