Report: Ex-WWE Name Set To Be At IMPACT Slammiversary?

A surprising name could feature at IMPACT Slammiversary

Although no official announcement was ever made, it was known that Eric Young has been employed by WWE since last year, with the belief being that Triple H had plans to use him. However, Young has not emerged on WWE programming, with no mention of his name ever being uttered. A report from PWInsider Elite suggests that Young may no longer be in the company, and that he may in fact show up in another promotion as soon as tonight. The report states;

“Eric Young was spotted this afternoon at the Detroit Airport, lending credence to the theory I proposed earlier today that he could be Scott D'Amore's partner at Slammiversary. If so, he obviously exited WWE quietly.”

As noted, Mike Johnson had previously suggested that Young could fill in as Steve Maclin’s replacement for IMPACT Slammiversary alongside Scott D’Amore to take on Bully Ray and Deaner.

The IMPACT Slammiversary card currently looks like this;

  • Alex Shelley (c) vs. Nick Aldis - IMPACT World Championship
  • Deonna Purrazzo (c) vs. Trinity - IMPACT Knockouts World Championship
  • Bully Ray & Deaner vs. Scott D’Amore & TBA
  • Chris Sabin (c) vs. Lio Rush - X-Division Championship
  • Jonathan Gresham vs. Mike Bailey vs. Alan Angels vs. KUSHIDA vs. Kevin Knight - Ultimate X
  • Eddie Edwards vs. Frankie Kazarian
  • The Coven (c) vs. Killer Kelly & Masha Slamovich - IMPACT Knockouts Tag Team Championship
  • ABC (c) vs. Brian Myers & Moose vs. Rich Swann & Sami Callihan vs. Subculture - IMPACT Tag Team Championships
