Report: Excitement About Triple H Becoming New Head Of WWE Creative

Could an exciting future be ahead for WWE?

In a major announcement today, WWE revealed Paul 'Triple H' Levesque was the new head of creative within the company, writing: "WWE executive Paul Levesque will assume all responsibilities related to WWE’s creative, in addition to his regular duties."

How this will affect WWE creative in the immediate future has yet to be revealed but there is excitement following The Game's appointment.

According to Fightful Select, the reaction amongst WWE talent was one of "general excitement" and that extended to WWE Raw's TV partner USA, with one source noting the news was "an exciting change."

Louis Dangoor of GiveMeSport also reported similar sentiments within WWE, tweeting: "I have spoken to a few people in WWE since it was announced that Triple H would be replacing Vince McMahon as Head of Creative, and the general feeling amongst everyone is universal excitement."

It initially appeared that Bruce Prichard would be the head of WWE creative following Vince McMahon's retirement on Friday and Prichard along with Ed Koskey were "largely in control" of the July 22 episode of SmackDown, while Triple H was the "finish guy", Fightful added.

Triple H does have experience in WWE creative, having headed up NXT for several years before he suffered from serious heart issues in September of 2021. Triple H's best friend Shawn Michaels is now in charge of the day-to-day running of the developmental brand.

The changes within WWE come after Vince McMahon announced on Friday that he was retiring as WWE Chairman and CEO. This followed two Wall Street Journal reports that revealed McMahon had paid over $12 million in the past 16 years to "suppress allegations of sexual misconduct and infidelity." That included a payment of $3 million to a former WWE employee over an alleged sexual relationship earlier this year.
