Report: Former WWE Referee Joins IMPACT Wrestling

A new recruit for IMPACT Wrestling

A former WWE referee is now a part of IMPACT Wrestling.

Scott Armstrong made his return to the promotion at Friday's Emergence special and Mike Johnson of PWInsider has since reported that Armstrong is officially a part of IMPACT. Alongside his refereeing duties, Armstrong is serving as a producer behind the scenes.

Armstrong had previously been with WWE as a referee and producer from 2006 until he was released along with several others in NXT on January 5, 2022. He was the official for several major matches in the company, including two WrestleMania main events and the fondly-remembered Money In The Bank 2011 main event match between John Cena and CM Punk.

Armstrong was also the Authority's crooked referee on WWE TV as Triple H and Stephanie McMahon tried to stop Daniel Bryan from becoming WWE Champion. After he failed to stop Bryan from winning the WWE World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania XXX, the official was used sporadically to do the Authority's bidding, first at Survivor Series 2014 before a brief return in January 2016 when Sheamus was feuding with Roman Reigns.

Armstrong has worked for IMPACT Wrestling before, serving as a referee, during the company's early years.
