Report: Fresh Sexual Misconduct Allegation Made Against Vince McMahon

A fresh sexual misconduct allegation against Vince McMahon has come to light following a new report from the Wall Street Journal. 

In their report, WSJ noted that a former spa manager of a five-star resort in Southern California has alleged that McMahon sexually assaulted her in 2011 when he was in the area for a WWE show. The spa manager reported the alleged assault to the resort at the time and told her husband about the incident which prompted him to try and confront McMahon at the nearby WWE event. The husband was turned away.

The former spa manager's lawyer is currently in contact with Vince McMahon's personal attorney Jerry McDevitt and they have been talking since at least July. 

Furthermore, a lawyer for former WWF referee Rita Chatterton has demanded $11.75 million in damages stemming from an allegation of rape she made against McMahon in the 1990s. Chatterton alleged back in 1992 that McMahon raped her in the back of a limousine in 1986, claiming that McMahon told her to satisfy him if she wanted a $500,000 contract with his company. 

In the demand letter, Chatterton's attorney claims she "has suffered years of ongoing depression, substance abuse, disordered eating, lost income, and overall a decreased quality of life." It was also claimed in the demand letter that Chatterton has passed a polygraph and her account of events is corroborated by multiple sources. McMahon has long denied the allegations.

According to the Wall Street Journal, McMahon has told people he refuses to pay settlements to either Chatterton or the former spa manager. WWE's auditor Deloitte & Touche LLP noted that any resolutions of the claims might have to be disclosed by WWE publicly. 

Vince McMahon resigned as WWE Chairman and CEO in disgrace earlier this year amidst a sexual misconduct and hush money scandal. It emerged ahead of McMahon's resignation that he paid $14.6 million to multiple women to "suppress allegations of sexual misconduct and infidelity" between 2006 and 2022. The payments were under investigation by the SEC and federal prosecutors as although they were made by McMahon, they benefited WWE but were not disclosed in the company's accounts.
