Report: Further Details On WWE's Plans For Movie Parody Vignettes At WrestleMania 39

Movie parodies are on the way from WWE

WWE are reportedly calling back to an old idea at WrestleMania 39 as the company are planning to air "WrestleMania Goes Hollywood" parody skits, similar to the comedic movie trailers from 2005's WrestleMania 21.

Further details about WWE's plans for the new movie trailers have emerged, courtesy of WrestleVotes. The Miz and Maryse will reportedly be involved in a spoof of Top Gun, while Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins will be Batman and The Joker. Classic gangster movie Goodfellas will also be parodied by The Bloodline, and Drew McIntyre and The Brawling Brutes will recreate the 40-Year-Old Virgin.

WWE won't look to Hollywood for all of their inspiration, though, as The Judgment Day are scheduled to parody popular Netflix series Stranger Things.

When WWE first produced parodies for WrestleMania 21, they spoofed Dirty Harry, Pulp Faction, Basic Instinct, Forrest Gump, Braveheart, and Gladiator among other movies.

WrestleMania 39 will emanate from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on April 1 and April 2, 2023. The show will be headlined by an Undisputed WWE Universal Title match between Cody Rhodes and either Roman Reigns or Sami Zayn.
