Report: Goldberg's Super ShowDown Payday & Plans For WWE Future Revealed

Match vs. The Undertaker in Saudi Arabia...

WWE Super ShowDown will largely be remembered for a main event between The Undertaker and Goldberg that didn't exactly go to plan.

Despite the mishaps in the soaring heat of Saudi Arabia, it has been reported that Goldberg was paid over $1,000,000 for the match.

Here's what has been reported in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter: "If you’re wondering about the special guest Saudi Arabian payoffs, they are well into seven figures. At least Goldberg got well into seven for the match with Undertaker. Goldberg’s figure for the one match was considerably more than his one year contract when he came to WWE in 2003-04 ($1 million downside for eight dates per month), but less than his WCW contract ($3 million per year) when he was at his peak."

It looks like the WCW legend's match with Dolph Ziggler tomorrow night at SummerSlam is leading somewhere, if another report in this week's WON is to be believed: "With Goldberg, the thought is to make him the Bruno at the end of Bruno’s career. The guy who comes to your city once or twice a year for a grudge match and it’s a huge deal."

It's also reported that Brock Lesnar was likely paid more than Goldberg for his attempted Money In The Bank cash-in at SSD.
