Report: Grizzled Young Veterans Request Releases From WWE

Grizzled Young Veterans could be set to leave WWE

According to Fightful Select, Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler of The Schism have requested their releases from WWE.

There is no word on why the tag team have asked to be released by WWE. They are expected to be in demand on the independent wrestling scene in the United Kingdom and the United States. Reid and Fowler's visa situation in the United States is also unknown although there is often a non-compete following a WWE release before a grace period where they can continue to work in the USA.

Reid and Fowler were most recently in action at NXT Stand & Deliver on Saturday, April 1 as they along with Schism faction mates Joe Gacy and Ava lost to Chase U and Tyler Bate.

Prior to being repackaged as The Schism, Reid and Fowler wrestled as James Drake and Zack Gibson of Grizzled Young Veterans. They have been a part of WWE since 2018 and previously had one reign as NXT UK Tag Team Champions as GYV. They were one of the top tag teams in NXT, especially in 2021, but were repackaged after WWE's transition to NXT 2.0.
