Report: Jake Roberts Recently Underwent Foot Surgery

He's been absent from AEW for a couple months

As Lance Archer has continued to appear on AEW's various programs, manager and mentor Jake "The Snake" Roberts has been nowhere to be seen, without any explanation.

This week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Roberts was out due to "undisclosed health issues", while Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net has shed further light on Roberts' absence.

According to Haynes, Roberts recently underwent foot surgery to have pins inserted into some of his toes. The report goes on to say that the 66-year-old wrestling legend has been medically cleared to return, and could theoretically show up on AEW programming at any time.

Roberts' last AEW appearance was on the July 21 episode of Dynamite in suburban Dallas, seconding Archer as he won the IWGP United States title from Jon Moxley in a Texas Death Match.

Roberts debuted full-time for AEW shortly before the pandemic hit in March 2020. Interrupting a promo from Cody Rhodes, Roberts vowed to bring Rhodes to his ruin, while noting that he had a client. That client turned out to be Archer, who debuted the following week.
