Report: JBL Set For WWE Return

JBL is expected to be at the next 'several' Raws

WWE Hall of Famer John Bradshaw Layfield looks set for a return to Raw, according to a recent report.

PWInsider noted that there had been talk at this past Friday's SmackDown taping that JBL would be at the next 'several' Raws in 'some capacity'.

It was not specified what his role would be, but the former WWE Champion has variously worked as an announcer and analyst since retiring from in-ring competition in 2009, while he has also (occasionally) gotten physical in angles.

Though he was not explicitly shown on camera, JBL's limo picked up a dejected Happy Corbin and drove off on the September 2 episode of SmackDown. That was the most recent appearance of the Happy Corbin character.

With Omos and Rey Mysterio being switched from Raw to SmackDown, it is possible that he will resurface as a member of the Raw roster with JBL acting as some kind of mentor/manager figure.

When WWE sent out a tweet asking fans what they would get Corbin for his birthday (on September 13), JBL responded with 'A Manager?', stoking speculation that the two could soon be linked together on-screen.
