Report: Jerry Lawler Still Signed To WWE Legends Deal

Update on Jerry Lawler's WWE status

In an update on Jerry Lawler's WWE status, the WWE Hall of Famer is still signed to a legends deal with the company.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider tweeted: "FYI - WWE has reached out to state Jerry Lawler would still have a Legends deal. Want to make that clear. His full-time broadcasting contract was what lapsed and was not re-signed."

It emerged on Monday that Lawler was no longer signed to a broadcasting deal with WWE as the company opted not to renew his contract at the beginning of 2024. Lawler not being renewed was considered surprising as he was someone who would have been "taken care of" under the old WWE regime prior to the WWE-UFC merger in 2023.

Lawler stopped being a full-time announcer in WWE from April 2020 at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. He continued to make sporadic appearances on WWE programming until the end of 2023, even beyond suffering a stroke. Lawler noted during a recent autograph signing that his health was now "great."

Fightful Select noted people close to Lawler believe he is finished in the ring due to the stroke. The WWE Hall of Famer also reportedly doesn't watch much pro wrestling anymore.
