Report: John Cena Vs. Austin Theory Still Scheduled To Open WWE WrestleMania 39

No main event slot for John Cena vs. Austin Theory at WrestleMania 39

During the reveal of the full lineups for night one and night two of WrestleMania 39, WWE placed John Cena and Austin Theory front and centre for the April 1 show, which led to speculation that they were in fact main eventing night one.

WWE had previously confirmed Austin Theory vs. John Cena for the United States Championship would be the opening contest and the company have since reiterated to Fightful Select that the bout will be the first match of night one, despite the confusion over the WrestleMania 39 graphic.

The main event of night one of WrestleMania 39 has yet to be officially announced.

Cena and Austin Theory kicked off a feud for the United States Championship during Cena's return on March 6. The 16-time world champion has not appeared on WWE TV since as he is filming a movie. Austin Theory is currently the favourite to win the match.
