Report: KO Show Could Lead To Steve Austin WWE WrestleMania Match

Steve Austin might wrestle at WrestleMania 38 after all

After weeks of insulting 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin's home state of Texas, Kevin Owens called out the WWE Hall Of Famer on Monday Night Raw, inviting him to be a guest on the KO Show at WrestleMania 38.

Austin then accepted Owens' invitation the next day and he will appear inside AT&T Stadium on WrestleMania Saturday, April 2.

While WWE wanted Austin to actually step into the ring for the first time in 19 years, something Austin had not committed to, the match might actually still end up taking place.

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that an angle on the KO Show could lead to a match if Austin ultimately agrees to wrestle at The Showcase Of The Immortals. WWE have announced at least a KO Show appearance for The Texas Rattlesnake, though, because they felt Austin had to be announced for the event this week.

Even if a match doesn't take place, Stone Cold's appearance on the show is planned to be more than just a Stunner and a fight scene will take place. Austin has been "upping his cardio" in preparation for this.

When did Steve Austin last wrestle?

Austin last competed inside the squared circle in his retirement match against The Rock at WrestleMania 19 on March 30, 2003.
