Report: Major Changes Not Expected Within WWE In Near Future

In a shocking moment on Friday, Vince McMahon announced his retirement as WWE CEO and Chairman, stepping away from the company he had led since he acquired it from his father all the way back in 1982. 

McMahon's announcement came amidst a WWE board investigation into him over alleged sexual misconduct, with Wall Street Journal reports revealing the now-former WWE Chairman had paid over $12 million in the last 16 years to "suppress allegations of sexual misconduct and infidelity," including $3 million earlier this year for a former employee. 

Since McMahon's retirement, it has emerged that Triple H is leading WWE creative. Ed Koskey and Bruce Prichard were also prominent behind the scenes at Friday's SmackDown taping. 

Significant changes aren't expected to occur within WWE in the near future, though, Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio as WWE want to project stability to the company's shareholders and Wall Street in general. 

"One of the things I've heard is to not expect any changes because right now they want to show Wall Street and the stockholders that everything is stable and fine. They don't want big changes...It was said the worst thing possible would be it looks like Vince left, and now it's just anarchy. They want everything to look as stable as possible to make it look like it's a smooth transition and that the company is in good hands and doesn't fall apart without Vince McMahon," Meltzer said. 

Some changes look set to be made over the next year, though, and reports have noted that Kevin Dunn, a key associate of Vince McMahon, is expected to leave the company. How WWE Creative will look by July 2023 also remains to be seen.
