A major return has reportedly been discussed within WWE.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there has been talk behind the scenes within WWE about Edge and Christian Cage wanting to team together again for one last run. For any run to take place in WWE, Christian would ultimately need to leave All Elite Wrestling and jump ship back to Vince McMahon's company.

Meltzer noted it is unclear how much longer Christian is under contract with AEW and if a reunion of Edge and Christian is possible. Edge signed a three-year deal for $3 million per year but that contract was likely extended due to Edge missing time in 2020 through injury. His deal would still be up later this year and unless a new contract is agreed upon, Edge will have the option to jump to AEW to reform Edge and Christian in Tony Khan's promotion.

AEW did try and sign Edge in 2019 but The Rated-R Superstar accepted the bigger-money offer from WWE. Christian made his own return to WWE at Royal Rumble 2021 but signed with AEW soon after.

There had been speculation about Christian's future with AEW around WrestleMania 39 but the former IMPACT World Champion resurfaced on Dynamite this week alongside Luchasaurus.
