Report: Max Dupri Out As Maximum Male Models Leader

He wasn't present with the group last night

Max Dupri, the former LA Knight and Eli Drake, is reportedly out as the face of Maximum Male Models, according to a report from PW Torch.

The Torch's report claims that Dupri, "rubbed some people the wrong way and wasn't fitting in." Vince McMahon apparently made the decision some time ago to remove him from the role.

Dupri was not on last night's SmackDown, and has functionally been replaced by storyline sister Maxxine Dupri (former developmental prospect Sofia Cromwell), who debuted on Friday's program.

Max Dupri appeared on the July 15 SmackDown, where he announced his sister's debut for the following week. Dupri apparently knew at the time that this would be his final appearance in the gimmick.

Dupri, under the Knight name, returned to WWE in February 2021 (after a brief stint in developmental earlier in the 2010s). He briefly held the Million Dollar championship in NXT, during a feud with Cameron Grimes.

As Eli Drake, Knight held the Impact World title several years ago, and even reigned as half of Impact's Tag Team champions with Scott Steiner.
