Report: Mike & Maria Kanellis May Have "Misled" WWE Before Signing New Deal

Mike Kanellis requested his release from WWE on October 14th. While the company granted release requests from Luke Harper and Sin Cara on Sunday, they have yet to do the same for Kanellis.

The former IMPACT and ROH star's request came only four months after he and his wife Maria Kanellis signed new deals with the company, in which they are reportedly earning $250,000 per year.

He explained that talent within WWE have told him that the couple might have misled the company when they signed their new contracts. He also speculated that this could be the reason why WWE have not released Mike, as the company want to get "their money's worth out of them."

Soon after re-signing, Maria Kanellis did announce she was pregnant with their second child, but it is not currently known whether this is what the former IMPACT World Champion was referring to.

Bully Ray said: "I heard rumours, and not internet rumours and dirt sheet rumours. I’ve heard talk of some scuttlebutt amongst the boys that Mike and Maria might have misled the WWE when their new contracts were signed. I don’t know this for a fact, but I’m saying maybe the WWE didn’t want to release them because they want to keep them [and get] their money’s worth out of them."
