Report: MJF No-Shows AEW Fan Fest, Has Flight Booked Out Of Las Vegas

A strange situation playing out on Saturday

UPDATE:

According to reports from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful and Mike Johnson of PWInsider, MJF did not get on the plane for his red-eye flight to the East Coast and he is still in Las Vegas. There is reportedly a 50/50 chance that Friedman will no-show tonight's Double Or Nothing pay-per-view.

Original story below:

MJF no-showed Saturday's AEW Double or Nothing Fan Fest, and his status for Sunday's pay-per-view is uncertain.

According to a new report from Fightful Select, as of Saturday night, MJF reportedly has a flight booked out of Las Vegas.

The report cites one source within the company as saying that communication between AEW and MJF has "reached an all-time low", and several sources claiming that AEW is "very unhappy about how (the situation) played out."

MJF did not appear for his planned meet and greet at Fan Fest, resulting in AEW trying to make it up to the fans who'd paid to see him.

AEW has not issued any statement on the matter. MJF is scheduled to wrestle Wardlow at Double or Nothing on Sunday night.

MJF and AEW have been at odds over his contract status and his level of pay. AEW has reportedly been willing to discuss a new contract with MJF, but MJF has reportedly "blown off" potential talks.

As it stands, MJF's AEW contract doesn't expire until 2024. He signed a five year deal with the promotion shortly after the promotion launched with the first Double or Nothing.
