MJF may not be appearing on All Elite Wrestling TV in the immediate future after losing the AEW World Championship to Darby Allin.

According to BJ Bethel of SEScoops, the expectation is that MJF is filming at least one movie after dropping the AEW World Title. Friedman's name has reportedly been on the schedule and call sheets for months, although it is unknown as of the time of writing which movie MJF will be working on.

MJF was defeated in two minutes by Darby Allin on AEW Dynamite Spring BreakThru, with Allin winning the title in his home state of Washington. Darby picked up the win so quickly after hitting MJF with a low blow, which was followed up with a scorpion death drop and four coffin drops for the win.

MJF made his acting debut in 2023's The Iron Claw where he had a brief cameo as Lance Von Erich. He has since appeared in Happy Gilmore 2 as Gordy Gilmore, and MJF will be in 2026's Violent Night 2.

MJF's loss to Darby Allin ended his second reign as AEW World Champion at 109 days. Friedman won the title in a four-way at Worlds End and successfully defended the AEW World Championship against Bandido, Hangman Page, Brody King, Kevin Knight, and Kenny Omega on AEW programming. MJF also defended the belt on the indies, earning wins over Alec Price and Zilla Fatu.
